Press Release Regarding Trevor Bauer Accusations

Updated: Oct 6, 2023

In 2021, Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer was accused of physical and sexual assault of Lindsey Hill. Trevor was suspended by Major League Baseball, released by the Dodgers, and hasn’t played in the MLB since 2021.

Recently, Mr. Bauer was allegedly able to obtain exculpatory evidence that his accuser deliberately withheld and claimed didn’t exist. This exculpatory evidence comes in the form of:

  1. A video of Miss Hill laying in bed next to a sleeping Mr. Bauer smiling ear-to-ear the morning after she claims she was assaulted. No marks on her face, not a care in the world.

  2. Text messages from Miss Hill to various contacts in her phone, plotting out extortion in writing, stating the following:

  3. “Next victim. Star pitcher for the Dodgers”

  4. “What should I steal?”

  5. “Im going to his house Wednesday…I already have my hooks in…you know how I roll”

  6. “Being an absolute WHORE to try to get in on his $51 million”

  7. Stating that she had her “hooks in” Mr. Bauer, to which her friend replied “Bitch you better secure the bag!”

  8. “Need daddy to choke me out”

  9. When asked by an acquaintance if she felt a tiny bit guilty about what she was doing, she replied “Not really”

Mr. Bauer also claims that Miss Hill’s legal team approached him numerous times asking for a financial settlement.

The reason for the alleged false allegations seems to be extortion, simply judging by Miss Hill’s alleged text messages (one of the five reasons for false allegations outlined by the Advocates For the Falsely Accused).

The emotional and financial cost to Mr. Bauer as a result of these false allegations is simply immeasurable, as is the emotional toll that this has undoubtedly taken on Mr. Bauer’s loved ones.

Aside from Mr. Bauer and his loved ones, the real victims of these false allegations are actual survivors of sexual and physical assault. Because of people like Lindsey Hill, real survivors will continue to have their stories met with a skeptical eye and not be treated with the belief that they deserve.

With this in mind, we have the following questions:

To the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office & Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón –

Trevor Bauer is an innocent man who allegedly had his life destroyed by a woman who appeared to be on a mission to extort him. She allegedly withheld exculpatory evidence, presumably lied under oath, and presumably lied to investigators.

According to 261 PC of California code, Mr. Bauer could have faced up to 8 years in prison if convicted for rape.

According to 118 PC of the California code, someone who knowingly lies under oath could face up to four years in prison.

According to 148 PC of California code, someone who obstructs justice can face up to 10 years in prison, depending upon circumstances.

According to 524 PC of California code, someone who extorts another could face up to 4 years in prison.

Our question to George Gascón and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office: what are you going to do to enforce the law? Mr. Bauer could have spent up to 8 years in prison for these allegations, and Miss Hill seems to have committed at perhaps three felonies while completely destroying an innocent person’s life in the process (not to mention destroying the credibility of real victims everywhere). Will Lindsey Hill face any consequences for any of her actions? Or will you continue to enforce politics while ignoring the law? False allegations of the heinous crimes of sexual an physical assault should be prosecuted with the same seriousness that these heinous crimes themselves are prosecuted with.

To The California Bar Association –

Lindsey Hill appears to have deliberately withheld exculpatory evidence that would have gone a long way toward exonerating Mr. Bauer in court, in the public eye, and with the MLB and Los Angeles Dodgers. Will there be any investigation into whether or not her legal team participated in this? According to your own Rules of Professional Conduct, attorneys must give fairness to opposing counsel. The Text of Rule 3.4 Reads:

Rule 3.4 Fairness to Opposing Party and Counsel

A lawyer shall not:

(a) unlawfully obstruct another party’s access to evidence, including a witness, or unlawfully alter, destroy or conceal a document or other material having potential evidentiary value. A lawyer shall not counsel or assist another person* to do any such act;

(b) suppress any evidence that the lawyer or the lawyer’s client has a legal obligation to reveal or to produce

Lindsey Hill had a legal obligation to produce this evidence. At a minimum, her attorneys seemingly made no effort to verify Miss Hill’s claims. At worst, they were assisting her in burying evidence and obstructing discovery. Will there be an investigation? Or will attorneys continue to protect other attorneys?

Call to Action

We are encouraging all advocates for justice to call upon the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office to let them know we want justice. There should be a full investigation into Lindsey Hill’s actions, as they have directly resulted in millions of dollars in damages, on top of untold reputational damage as well as the damage to the perceived credibility of real victims everywhere.

Please make your voices so loud they cannot be ignored.
